- 0.8 mm – 0.8 mm across at the link, very fine for a chain - a little thinner than a U.S. dime laid flat (1.35 mm). Takes a pendant bail of about 1.2 mm or wider.
- 1 mm – 1 mm across at the link, fine for a necklace - a little thinner than a U.S. dime laid flat (1.35 mm). Takes a pendant bail of about 1.4 mm or wider.
- 1.4 mm – a necklace of 1.4 mm - fine, and about the thickness of a U.S. dime (1.35 mm). Takes a pendant bail of about 1.8 mm or wider.
